The UareU fingerprint reader is a USB peripheral perfect for individual desk top users, as well as multiple users in shared environments. Its compact design conserves desk space in enterprises, and its professional, modern appearance looks elegant in point-of-sale environments. The U.are.U 4500 Reader utilizes optical fingerprint scanning technology to achieve excellent image quality, a large capture area and superior reliability. A silicone coating allows it to read a wide range of fingerprints accurately and rapidly regardless of placement angle. The high-quality metal casing resists unintentional movement. This reader can be purchased for spare or replacement hardware for our Solutions.

The DigitalPersona 4500 fingerprint reader is a USB peripheral perfect for individual desktop users, as well as multiple users in shared environments. Its compact design conserves desk space in enterprises, and its professional, modern appearance looks elegant in point-of sale environments.

The DigitalPersona 4500 reader,

utilizes optical fingerprint scanning technology to achieve excellent image quality, a large capture area and, superior reliability. A silicone coating allows it to read a wide range of fingerprints accurately and rapidly regardless of placement angle. The high-quality metal casing resists unintentional movement.

To use,

simply place a finger on the reader window and the reader quickly and automatically captures and encrypts the fingerprint image before sending it to the DigitalPersona® FingerJet™ biometric engine for verification. For superior user feedback, a red “flash” indicates that a fingerprint image has been captured. The DigitalPersona 4500 fingerprint reader is designed for use with a full range of software.

 Disinfecting U.are.U Readers with SC or HD Coating 

Standard Coating (SC) Use Ethanol or Isopropanol in concentrations of less than 50%. High Durability (HD) Use Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2), in 3% solution in water.

Cleaning U.are.U Readers with SC or HD Coating 

Either SC or HD coatings  Use cellophane tape. SC coating Use Ethanol or Isopropanol in concentrations of less than 50%. 

 Procedures for Cleaning or Disinfecting U.are.U Fingerprint Readers 

Instructions for Using Cleaning Solutions**

  • Apply the liquid to a soft lint-free material (same as used to clean camera lenses) and gently dab the fingerprint reader window. 
  • DO NOT pour any liquid directly on the reader window.  
  • DO NOT submerge the scanner in liquid. 
  • DO NOT rub the window with an abrasive material, including paper.  

Instructions for Using Cellophane Tape –Apply the sticky side of a piece of adhesive cellophane tape to the window, and then peel it away. 

 DO NOT USE: 

• Isopropyl Alcohol – (CAS # 67-63-0, C3H7OH) with a concentration in water of greater than 50%. 

• Ethyl Alcohol / Ethanol – (CAS # 64-17-5, C2H60) with a concentration in water of greater than 50%. 

• Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) – (CAS # 7681- 52-9, NaClO) in any concentration.
